The knives on display will be the work of members of the Knifemakers Guild of South Africa and the Cape Knifemakers Guild. This requirement does not apply to our “knife making suppliers” who support the craft through their private ventures.
Here are some interesting facts on Janssen’s Town Hall….. “Amongst the oldest buildings in Milnerton. The hall was originally built as a tea bungalow and was later used as a casino. The hall served as the refreshment stop for the horse fraternity on an outing to the races at Ascot Turf Club, in days gone by – it was located at the end of the railway line from Cape Town. Janssen’s Town Hall is still in use today for functions and is maintained by the City Council.”
